NOT Dedicated HT, Need help on screen

I am wanting to set up a projector to use as a ht. But I don't have a dedicated space for it. I currently live in a condo and room for a projector, but my question is about a screen. With being in a condo I don't want a screen showing all the time. I don't even want the screen case showing. I have a wall that is about 80" wide and the ceiling is a 9' ceiling. If I don't want a pull-down screen, and I don't want a fixed screen, what suggestions are there to have a screen that I can show movies on, but that won't be seen during the day? I have heard of someone mounting a pull-screen upside-down, so the case is near the floor and they pull it up to lock it. Just wondering what any suggestions are.

It's not exactly DIY, but Da-Lite has a product called Insta-Theater that might fit the bill. They weigh about 20 lbs. When completely collapsed, the tube is about 6in in diameter; so, you could toss it under your bed.

I have about 5 of the 48" x 64" (80" diag) units at work used for portable presentations. The 80" unit is between $350-$400.

You're pretty much eliminated your choices?

You either have to have some sort of retractable screen, or a fixed screen. You can make retractable screen installations that completely recede into the ceiling, and are pretty much invisible except for a slit (there are probably ones out there that close completely, i dunno). But you have to have a screen come from somewhere...

You could make a fixed screen with some trim around it to make it look like a window, then get some custom mini-blinds made for it.

You could buy a set of stretcher bars (say 62 x 40) and choose an image you like (favourite high res photo or similar). Then have the image gicle printed onto canvas up to 42" x width of screen and make a large canvas for the wall. Then cut and staple blackout to the back with a black edge trim; a couple of folding hoops on the top and two screws in the wall stud. Then you have wall art or fine art depending on your image choice and when lifted and reversed a good HT screen. (you could paint the BO cloth to improve also). Cheapish and light weight too. Doesn't work so well if the screen needs to be over 42" high though so widescreen only.
