seating configuration for 18 x 12 HT...

What would you think a good seating config for a theater this size is? I sit about 8-9 feet away from my 46" set and have only one sofa in there now. Any suggestions about adding another chair? I don't want to add another seat and throw my acoustics off (ie. heavy sound to one side), but if I can do it without hurting my soundstage, I would. Ideas are welcome...

Thanks.

Hey Rob,

I have the same room sizes - 11 x 18 and I have two rows of seating, one on a back 8" riser. Don't know if that is possible in your room, but it would save you from having to put a chair in front of your main viewing area.

Cheers,

My room is smaller, 9'x16'. My front row is 3 theater seats about 9' from an 85" screen. In the back, on a 12" deck, is a couch which is about 12' from the screen. Works very well and does not affect acoustics or soundstage at all.

Another relatively same sized room, 12'-6" by 18'-10", with two rows of seating. 3 movie theater seats in the front and 4 in the back on a riser.
