How do I get my sub to work when playing my TV through
my receiver? I have a basic L/R RCA output from my TV running to my receiver.
It only sees an analog signal. I get sound through all 5 speakers, but not the sub.
Thanks........

Hmm, most receivers have the sub working all the time. Make sure you’re in DPL mode – it should work.

Wayne,
LMAO............
You, of all people, expect me to know what that means.
I have even looked through the manual for my 7200, and dont see any mention of "DPL mode".
Anybody else running an HK AVR7200 hooked up to your TV set???
It does mention 5 channel stereo & 7 channel stereo
(notice it is NOT 5.1 or 7.1).
On a lighter note, I got more output from my truck subs.
I looked at my mono amp & its crossover was set at 50Hz.
I moved it up & now it has alot better output..

Some receivers allow you to "tell" it what speakers are active for every input. You may need to turn on the sub via a setup procedure for the TV input.

to what size are your front speakers set, in the receiver (pre/pro)?
if i understand how you're connecting it, you "get bass out of your TV" just like you would "get bass" out of anything else connected by an analog 2-channel connection.
it's dependent upon how you set up the receiver.

The LFE light won’t come on. That’s only for Dolby Digital.
Since you’re sending the signal directly from your TV, any settings you have in it will make a difference. For instance, make sure its bass control is not turned all the way down.
Also, if you tell us what make and model receiver you have, perhaps someone will be familiar with it.

Well, I think there is sound coming out of sub, but it is as if it not being amplified. Maybe as Wayne states, it is just "bass shy".
Yes, amp is on & working.....

I get TONS of bass while watching TV, from just about any show that i watch. There is a lot of bass content in most TV shows, so i dont think thats the problem.

I don't know if this means anything....but I don't think the 7200 has regular DPL- only DLP II. Don't know what that means...but I threw it out anyway.
