Cloning an SVS PB1-ISD

http://www.svsubwoofers.com/subs_pb1_isd.htm

I'm sure lots of you are familiar with it. I'm wanting to build a sub and I'd like to clone this thing as close as possible. I already searched this forum for info on cloning PB1-ISD, but couldn't find any info.

Basically I need the enclosure dimensions, port dimensions, and the driver/amp combo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I doubt you can copy them as the parts or their products are specific to them. You can however order from a number of other vendors like Stryke Audio, Adire Audio, and Parts Express to do what you want, and perhaps if done right even beat that particular model.

Parts Express 300-794, 295-185, 268-352.

All in a box made of 3/4" MDF, braced somehow, to equal an internal volume of 4 feet after subtracting port and driver displacement. Port (straight part)should be 14" long.

Add a can of bed liner spray or two to match the finish...

Good luck!

You call that a knife?

For the minimal additional cost you might want to consider using the Stryke AV12 MKII. In the propper enclosure it would give something more similar to something inbetween the PB1+ and a PB1 Ultra (if there were such a thing). An AV12 MKII in a 4 ft^3 box with an 18" long 4" diameter port would give you an F3 around 17.5hz with flat response. The rythmik 380 watt amp would be a great choice at not much more than the PE 272 watt amp and would be plenty for the AV12. The PE amp is well suited for the AV12 (that's what I use with mine) but the driver can handle more power easily.

hope this helps

No doubt. If size isn't an issue there's no reason not to go with a 15".

Why is it that I suck at searching just this forum? Hell, I even posted in that thread.
