I sold my Marantz RC-2000 Mk II last year and tried to become a Pronto convert.
I bought a TSU-3000 and the charging station.
Try as I might, I just can’t warm to the “touch screen” world.
I read a few months back that Marantz was showing the new RC-1400 at CEDIA 2003 Expo, but I haven’t seen it for sale yet.
Multiple WEB searches find a few European & Japanese stores selling it, but nothing in the USA.
Does anyone have any info ???
Thanks,
Shawn S

The RC1400: Affordable, Advanced Marantz Remote Control Technology
The Marantz RC1400 Programmable Learning Remote Control is a brand-new design from the ground up, and makes advanced Marantz remote control technology more affordable and accessible than ever. Like the RC5400, it provides complete control of every type of audio/video equipment-TVs, DVD players, A/V receivers, cable and satellite boxes, and almost every type of component that responds to IR control.
The sleek, contoured RC1400 is designed to fit comfortably into the hand and offers total system control via its convenient LCD display screen, along with a keypad that features buttons of different shapes and sizes, logically laid out for easy access and intuitive operation. The keys that operate with the LCD screen are user-customizable to correspond to the A/V component being controlled.
Like all Marantz remotes, the RC1400 is designed for unmatched ease of programming and use-the control codes from almost every brand of IR remote can be quickly transferred to the RC1400, and it comes pre-programmed to operate a wide variety of Marantz audio/video components. Its large, non-volatile memory capacity allows the unit to memorize hundreds of commands, for total control of even sophisticated home entertainment systems.
The Marantz RC1400 contains many additional advanced features to enhance user convenience, such as macro keys that can be programmed to transmit a series of commands at the touch of a single button.
The RC1400 has a suggested retail price of $169
