In wall shelves

We're moving into our new house (new to us) next week. There is a great bonus room above the garage. The room has knee walls at about 5.5 ft. The TV will go at the end of the room. There is some attic space on one side wall that is easily accessible. I was thinking about removing a stud and creating an in-wall shelf system to house my HT components. I thought I would remove one stud and have the "box" fit between the next 2 studs. I was thinking of using a casement to trim it out on the sheetrock side. Any ideas on where to purchase one already built? Any suggestions on making one? There is an outlet close by that I could tap from the back (attic side) for power. Any suggestions for getting the cables back to the TV? I was thinking of running 4 in PVC pipe from the side wall to the back of the TV along the floor since I can not get into the exterior wall behind the TV.

Thanks
