DIY component cable?

I'm in need of about 30 feet of component cable(about 16ft if just going from point A to B). I went to the local home theater store and they had some higher quality Monster cable at their warehouse for something crazy like $300. I said don't think so . The salesman said I could go to RadioShack and make my own by purchasing rca plugs and rf(I think) cable. Has anyone made their own component cable? Can you give me advice because I think this is the only way I can go unless I move my receiver a lot closer to my projector.

If I don't say so myself, there are two very nice sources for DIY Component Cables...

Chris White's Website

My DIY Cable Website

Hope these help..... However, I feel that the best "value" in DIY is when you have to make alot of cables and long runs. IMHO, its not worth it to make one cable (or two) even for long runs. Under these instances, I think RadioShack cables will work just fine at a much cheaper price then the local HT/Audio store.

Now, there are several users, like Vince Maskeeper (sp?), that does make DIY cables like those shown in the links for a very reasonable price
