Sub recomendations?

I just completed an shiva ebs endtable and it is great for movies, but now I want to build a music sub for mainly rock music. I have towers that are flat to 40hz and would like the sub to be a front firing, small and sealed with high output. The ebs is great for 40hz and lower but is missing that midbass punch. I would place the sealed sub somewhere between my towers. Any suggestions are welcome. What would be the difficulty in blending the two subs with my towers? Thanks

Can you roll off the towers a bit higher? Trying to blend in at that level could be a challenge without EQ somewhere. You'll probably need a good 15" sub driver to get down where you want to be with the SPL desired for loud rock. Probably the usual suspects, Tempest, AV15, Tumult and a gutsy amp.

There's no reason to build a second sub. Are you using some EQ to flatten the response of your EBS? If not you should be.

So...

Get Behringer DSP1124P aka the BFD, it's s fully digital and can store 2 completely separate stereo EQ curves. Just toggle between the movie and music EQ curves...
