Elmer Millikan Member Join Date: Oct 2002 Local Time: 02:16 PM Local Date: 08-28-2008 Posts: 49	Ceiling furring strips??? Hi All! Is 2"x2" sufficient to carry the load of two layers of 5/8" drywall? How long should each strip be? I have a lot of 2x2x18"ish scraps that I can use if it won't create a problem. How close to each wall should each strip start and what should the spacing be between the strips? Thanks in advance! Elmer
