Very Long Speaker runs & distortion

The speakers at the back of my house are ~100ft.By the time I go from the amp to the speaker I would guess nearly 120 feet.
I use seperate channels on amps to each speaker but occasionally audio from one of my mega changers is distorted. I guess the DAC is not as good as my other changer(never sounds bad from that one) and the resistance build up adds up.
Part of the wiring in the wall cannot be changed but I could change about 80 ft to a better gauge. Anyone ever have this problem and solve it?
Thanks
Grant

I can't imagine the speaker wiring being the problem unless perhaps it is super thin - like 20ga. or something.

I ended up rerouting the changer directly into the switcher and not through another changer with improved results. Some cds still dont sound great but most sound better.
I think the wire was the inwall 4 wire 16ga. type.
