Need a piece for my projector mount

Got an X1 for Christmas and was in shock to see how much ceiling mounts are for those things

Anyway, I took a trip to Lowes, knowing I could build something that would work just as well, and whipped up a pretty good looking mount. I'm just missing one piece......
I need to be able to adjust the angle (toward the ceiling or floor) that the projector is pointing. I have it wedged to almost the correct angle, but the projected image is still a little lower than I want.
What I'm needing is some kind of locking ball joint that will thread on to a pipe.

Does anyone know of something that would work for this application, or a place that sells parts like this? Being able to adjust yaw, pitch and roll would be an added bonus, but not absolutely needed. I just need to adjust the image up and down the wall.

A panavise base might be what you're looking for:

You can find them HERE.

I'm not sure it'll accept threaded pipe, though.

That looks interesting. I can't tell from the website, but it doesn't look like it has any way of holding onto the shaft/pipe that is put in that hole in the top. Looks like when used as designed, the weight of the vice holds it in.

The website mentions a flathead screw that fits in the bottom to "permanently" affix a vice head.

Any way you could incorporate the screw?

Possibly.

I'll drop them an email and see if I can get some more info.
