Riser - additional height

We recently built a riser (4 by 8)made out of 2X6 on 12 inch centers, stuffed with insulation, 1/4 inch plywood on bottom, and two 3/4 inch sheets on top with roofing felt sandwiched between. Very sturdy, but I now realize I need a little more height. I'm wondering about using a sturdy "sofa leg" type of support to give me that extra 3 inches or so. Will it interfer with sound or anything?

Sam,

No it won't. But you have to construct it right: no tilting or other movement (the floor may be uneven!)
Good luck.

What will be the total height?

For 3 more inches of height, I think I'd go with 2x4s, framed like you did the 2x6s and another layer of 1/2" ply on the bottom.
