Lines in Picture
I just finished setting up my home theater. It has 5 tv's. 4 14" JVC, and Sony 16x9 34" HDTV as main set. I have 4 directv receivers, cable tv, dvd, vcr, and I modulate 4 channels: 2 security cameras and 2 satellite receivers for use throughout the house. I hook 3 directv receivers via s video to the 14" tv's, and the other directv receiver to the Sony via s video. I also hook my cable and modulated (combined) feed into every tv via rg-6. Here's the problem: I found out through trial and error that unless I somehow hook the main cable feed (directly from the street, not including modulated channels) into the directv receivers, I get annoying lines that slowly move up my screens. But I can't do this, because then the modulated channles cannot be seen! I don't understand why this is happening. For the time being, I split the incoming cable feed in 2 so that I have one feed combining with my modulated channels and then to all the tv's in the house, and the other feed going directly to my main directv receiver. This seems to eliminate the lines on that receiver, but the other receivers still have the lines! Does anyone know why these lines are happening? Is there a way to stop this? How do the pros do this? I can't understand why the lines go away when i hook the main cable into the directv receiver? I don't even hook the out to tv up! I use s video! But unless I hook the main cable feed in, I get the slow moving lines that will drive you crazy! If anyone knows what to do, please let me know. Thanks.
