will a 150 w do fro a shiva?

I am about to buy my shiva and an amp but my pocket book only covers the driver and a 150w plate amp, should I hold off and spend the extra $130Can for a 250w plate amp?
It is in a sealed 54l...

Send a message via AIM to Matt Dolejsi
my recommendation would be to either build a lower Q design or get the more powerful amp...

The 150 would probably do it though, I have a friend running a small sealed tempest off of 200 watts and it seems to like it. Though i do think it could take a little more...and its always nice to have a little headroom

Check out www.creativesound.ca, they have $1 shipping on the adire ava250 within Canada. I was using about 150 watts on my tempest but was not happy with it. it was a crappy amp though.

I would be using the 150w plate amp that creative carries but I can get it for $115Can thru Solen.ca.

I was reading in another thread that the 250w amps are bottoming out the tempest even when they are only turned 1/3 the way up...http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...hreadid=165818

So I now wonder if the 150w would do for sure?!

In the long run you're going to want and need more power.
