first project: DIY HT Subwoofer

I am looking for designs to begin my first diy project. I can't seem to find the sub design I looked at a few months ago. So does anyone have a sub design, that looks similar to an end table? I found some really nice designs a while back, but can't seem to find them again. It is going to be used in a room that is aprox. 13x15. I would like a 12" driver and a ported box. Probably tuned around the 20-25Hz area. Looking for something that uses a plate amp also. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Nick

I built the Adire alignment.

Awesome.

There are actually quite a few people who used their DIY sub into an end table... and it's really more a question of aesthetics.

You should first choose a driver, enclosure volume, and matching amp. What is your budget for this sub? If you want to go with a 12" vented enclosure, the Shiva is a good driver especially for the price but there are other popular choices for more money.

Some examples of subs can be found here:

Later...
