I recently relocated my AV rack to a nearby closet and decided to post some pics (click the thumbs for larger images)

I'll need to take some better shots at night. Though the glare is much worse in the pictures. Its not really that noticeable in real life. (Two Towers comes out 3 days before my birthday, so I'm sure you can guess what I'll be doing )

I like having easy access so I can walk over and change volume, CDs, radio stations etc. when I'm not seated on the couch so I decided to cut out an opening for the receiver, DVD player and VCR. The rest of the gear is hidden in the closet. Plus the Gamecube and X-box on the little cabinet.

All controlled by a Home Theater Master MX-500

I've still got some finish work to do on the closet plus putting the cabling in wall. Can't decide whether to paint the trim on the gear opening white or leave it natural. I'm also thinking of painting the walls a blue toned silvery gray. Thoughts?

Thanks for the compliments guys. I tried putting the gear in several different places, but none of them seemed quite right. Initially I had the components on top of the TV, but it never looked the way I wanted it to, and then after I added up over 100 lbs on top I thought it best to relocate it. Prior to this I had a rack standing where the sub is now and had the sub moved over into the corner. This looked ok, but the sub was blocking the doors to the closet and the garage. The closet seemed like a good place to try next, but I didn't like the idea of having to open the door all the time. Then it hit me, why not cut a hole in the wall? I wasn't sure how it would look, but I like how it turned out.

Looks good, but one question: your center looks more or less flush with the top of the TV. I have heard from many posters that centers should protrude slightly above the top of the TV, to prevent some of the sound from deflecting off the TV. I have no proof that this is so, but many claim that it is. You might want to move it forward a few inches and see if you can detect any change/improvement in sound.

Larry:

The front of the center channel is flush with the back of the frame for the RPTV screen. I don't want to move it any further forward and put pressure on the plastic frame. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I have propped up the back of the center to angle it down toward the listening area, which did make a noticeable improvement.

It took me awhile to find the mounts myself. Everyone seems to have mounts for the smaller satellites, but not for larger speakers. What I'm using is made by Vantage Point, model is BKSPE-B. Bookshelf Speaker Mount Series. I found them at one of the local BestBuys about a year and a half ago, but they don't currently show up on their website.
