Hi Mark. Welcome to HTF!
I'm a big fan of the dual-banana plugs from Radio Shack (2xx-308). These things have a side-hole that takes a thick as 10 ga wire and makes it easy to do a neat, secure wire job.
(Hint: buy 1 pair and bring them home to test. Not all binding posts have the same spacing).
I use the dual-bananas for behind my speakers. But they stick out too far for behind my receiver. So I use the single-bananas (2xx-306) for this end.
These things sell for about $6/set. Combine this with some good 12 ga speaker wire like the Sound King brand from
www.partsexpress.com and you can make and terminate your own wires.
