Thanks to this forum for incentive and tons of info, and to Kyle Richardson for some tips and advice.

Also to Audio Concepts for the ideas of how to finish it. Not to worry, I'm not going into production.

I won't post them here out of respect for those on slower connections..

I wish my room was wider but I have to make do with what I have. The room is actually quite large as it opens on one part to the kitchen and is around 35 feet long..

My thoughts on how it sounds? KILLER..

I was worried that being ported, I'd have problem with music. Not so. It sounds great!!

Very good. Blends in well with your room. The DIY Tempest sub is one of the best bargains to be had.

Thanks for the replies...

The molding is oak. Same for the top. I wanted cherry or maple but I don't have a planer or joiner and all I could find in this neck of the woods, was raw and a bit too expensive for me.

I also wanted a bit more red to the stain. Something I'm still learning about. (Stains) I found out about dyes after I had it done. Or I would have tried a bit of red dye first..

The stain is Minwax..Sedona Red...and imho a very pretty stain for oak..the pictures do not do the finish justice..

John, that looks great. Its actually almost identical to one of the designs I was considering for my sub. Very nice job!
