Monster cable

I would like to know if the monster cable thx 1000 ultra are better speaker cables than the Acoustic research master 10 ga. I like the design and quality of the montser cable, and even if the ar are more expensive, I wouldn't mind to pay more. Both are preterminated.

Just to mention, I work at Future shop, so the price is about half that, that is why I'm getting one of the two.

To borrow a page from Bill Clinton, it depends what your definition of better is. With regards to being THX certified, no one has any idea what that certification means as a specification has never been published for public consumption. One could, I imagine, determine the L/C/R (inductance/capacitance/resistance) values for several THX certified cables and reverse analyze this.

If you're looking for an audible difference between the two wires, I can't imagine a reason why there'd be one. Armed with this, it's up to you to justify spending more, less, or looking at alternative solutions.

Yeah, I just made an executive decision yesterday for the purchasing department of Welker Home Theater, Inc. Monster Cable is no longer recognized as a preferred vendor due to outrageous pricing and shady sales practices.
