I finally got to try out my sonosub It is very close to the "EBS" design of the 12" dayton titanic mkii driver. I'm not very experienced in audio so I can't really compare it to good subwoofers. I'm pretty impressed with how loud and smooth it is though.

BUT, I really really screwed up my naugahyde finish by using contact cement wrong... so now it's an ugly yellow tube with black painted endcaps

so it's not really "finished"

If you have any suggestions let me know... it's 32" high, 18" diamter with 4" flared port on top, endcaps are already painted.. and now I have dried glue on half of the tube.

JoelTV,
I had a similar screwup. The paint wasn't adhering to the waxy sonotube coating so I decided to start peeling the wax. Wrong move! Now it soaks up paint like a sponge. I decided to just go with black speaker enclosure carpet from parts express and use the 3m adhesive to put it on.

Screw up and learn, that's what DIY is all about

Frank

I did mine similar to Frank's. I used black indoor/outdoor carpet from Home Depot that was in the remnant pile. Cost me a whole 5 bucks.
