Stryke MTM towers pics

I just finished building my MTM towers using the Stryke sa071 and sa-tw1 drivers.. have a look at them here. There are some large pics so 56k beware.
Total cost for drivers and crossover = $95.

What's your opinion on the sound? (I am the designer of that particular Stryke kit btw, so be nice ). I'll admit that I found the tweeters were fairly difficult to work with.

Karl,

Great looking cabinets. If you don't mind my asking, what compressor and spray gun did you use?

Mark,

Nice to see you around here again! Don't let Hank be too much of a bad influence.

I think the sound is great.. but obviously the weak point is the tweeter. Highs are not quite as crisp and clear as they could be. Mark, have you tried using the SA071's with a different tweeter?

My compressor is nothing special.. just a 15 gallon 4.5HP porter cable. I picked up the porter cable PSH3 gun to go with it. The compressor is a little under-powered for what they suggest but it worked out fine for me - it let me apply the paint slower so I had less chance of getting too much paint on and causing it to run. The enamel I used is great because I only needed one coat and it looks like I used about 3 or 4.

Thanks for all the compliments!

Wow I think you did a great job. I've always wanted to build my own speakers...but I never have. I haven't really had the time eather. I travel a lot for my job. But I was super impressed with the final result. Love the yellow/black combo. Mike D

Karl, LOVE the speakers! The yellow of the drivers and the blue of the speakers makes a GREAT combo! I was really thinking about getting the same drivers for my computersystem, but I figured the shipping/duty/brokerage to get it into Canada would up the cost and make it more expensive than it should be. Awesome work though!

WOW! I have got to build a pair of those. I am scared though, because I know nothing about crossovers. Is there a place I could do research on crossovers so I can try to build my own 2 channel speakers?
