Synopsis
It’s graduation day at Huntington Hills High-- a time for Pomp and Circumstance, tassels and mortarboards, and serious introspection about the future. But tonight, the seniors will leave all that behind for the things that really matter; romance, revenge and rock ‘n’ roll. Ethan Embry, Charlie Korsmo, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, Seth Green and Jennifer Love Hewitt star in one raucous comedy about the ultimate teen party, a once-in-a-lifetime alternate universe where class nerds become class studs, super-jocks are humiliated, and freshman crushes blossom into grown-up romance. >From prom queen to bimbo, meathead to misfit, everyone will be there for a hormone-charged bash tapped for out-of-control fun.

CAN’T HARDLY WAIT marked the directorial debut of comedy screenwriting duo Harry Elfont and Deborah Kaplan, who went on to write and direct Josie and the Pussycats and who recently co-scripted the hit romantic comedy Made of Honor for Columbia Pictures. The movie was produced by Betty Thomas (Charlie’s Angeles, Guess Who) and Jenno Topping (Catch And Release, Guess Who). In addition to the above cast, look for hysterical cameos from Selma Blair (Hellboy), Jenna Elfman (TV’s “Dharma and Greg”), Donald Faison (TV’s “Scrubs”), Melissa Joan Hart (TV’s “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch”), Jerry O’Connell (Jerry Maguire) and Jaime Pressly (TV’s “My Name is Earl”). CAN’T HARDLY WAIT was distributed by Columbia Pictures and has a run time of approximately 100 minutes. It has been rated PG-13 for teen drinking and sexuality, and for language.

Okay, I'll admit to it. I enjoyed the heck out of this film (and no, not because of Ms. Hewitt's obvious...talents ). I graduated HS in the early 90s and I think the filmmakers did too (or close) and for whatever reason, each stereotype they put on the screen matched someone I knew in HS almost letter-perfect. I'll buy the BD when its out.

Loved this film!

The stoned "hippie" delivers a line of dialogue about Velma from "Scooby Doo" that remains one of my favorite lines to this day. It's a surprisingly fun film overall, but that one line of dialogue made it a classic. It's also worth noting that much of the cast went on to do "bigger" and "better" things (just how many actors from "Six Feet Under appear in this film ?).

Glad to see they're including deleted scenes, as there were more than a few that were excised to secure the movie a PG-13 rating. Most of these are completely absurd (references to alcohol, etc.).
