Culver City, Calif. (May 19, 2008) – Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announces the Blu-ray™ High-Def release of In the Line of Fire on July 1, 2008 for the SRP of $28.95. This suspense-driven thriller stars four-time Academy Award® winner Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby, Dirty Harry) as Secret Service Agent Frank Horrigan, who is unable to forget his failure to protect John F. When Booth threatens to kill the current president, Horrigan is the only man capable of stopping him. The aging Secret Service Agent has no intention of failing his President this time around and engages in a cat-and-mouse game to prevent another national tragedy from happening.

Re: SPHE Press Release: In The Line Of Fire (Blu-Ray)

I'm really looking forward to this. It's one of Eastwood's best performances and one of Peterson's best films. It made great use of wide shots of crowds to give you a sense of how difficult it must be for a Secret Service man to scan the multitude for a lone threat. Those shots never quite worked on standard DVD, but on hi-def they should finally get their due.
