HD DVD: In the Valley of Elah
Hi,
At 720p, the picture is solid, and has average detail.
Jesse James has the edge in terms of PQ in comparison.
After watching Michael Clayton with its sombre ending, this has an opposite register starting slow, and then building up to a whodunnit climax.
Isham's score is ok and engages the surrounds. I found the sound to be a bit on the harsh side in terms of dialog otherwise.
A tad long, with a rushed ending...Annie Lennox's war tribute song LOST saves the day at the end credits.
Acting was fine. Recommended for the debate presented.
