Juno - What does Digital Copy SE mean?
For the Juno release there is a standard def DVD, a Digital Copy SE and a Digital Copy SE BD.
What does the Digital Copy mean? Does it mean the film was shot on digital and then transferred directly to DVD or what?

I forget the details now, but I thought "digital copy" refers to a feature that let's you download a copy of the movie (probably in MPEG4/AVC) for playback on portable devices.

This from blu-ray.com:
Also included will be a digital copy of the film, which will allow viewers to watch the film on their portable devices.

Re: Juno - What does Digital Copy SE mean?
Yeah. They did this with the SD releases of HP5, Resident Evil:Extinction and Family Guy: Blue Harvest as well. I can only comment on HP5, since it's the only one I own) but it contains 2 digital copies: one optimized for PC and one optimized for portable devices. I'm not sure of the codec but can post later.

The downloadable version will most likely be in Standard Definition.

Yes from what I understand there will be two discs in the case with one being a DVD with the digital download copy on it.

Re: Juno - What does Digital Copy SE mean?
I don't know if that would be the case with a BD copy, given the 50GB capacity. The second disc of HP5 contains special features in addition to the digital copies.

Re: Juno - What does Digital Copy SE mean?
I would imagine it would have to be on a DVD or how would people get it onto a computer for transfer to other devices? I don't think they're counting on too many people having Blu-Ray drives on their computer.
I guess we'll find out for sure when Hitman comes out on the 11th as that is the first one to have the copy included.

Most BD players have a USB port, and it's my understanding that the technology is such that you can directly download over USB to your portable video player.

Re: Juno - What does Digital Copy SE mean?
The DC that comes with Blue Harvest is on a separate DVD. There is a Windows version, and an Apple version.
Its actually a pretty neat feature if you have a video iPod or other such device.
That said, I do not think you could burn it to a DVD, which would be pointless when you are talking about getting a DC with a SD DVD, but if a DC came with a BR disc, it would be VERY smart to allow the user to burn a SD DVD.
