WHV Press Release: Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 12 separate on High Definition

Ocean’s 11 and Ocean’s 12 Available Separately for the First Time in High Definition

Available in Blu-ray™ Hi-Def on April 29 and HD DVD on May 20
with Exclusive All-New Special Features

Burbank, CA – February 28, 2008 – Double-down with Danny Ocean and the gang when Warner Home Video releases Ocean’s 11 and Ocean’s 12 for the first time as a single disc in high definition. Available in Blu-ray™ Hi-Def on April 29 and HD DVD on May 20 and previously exclusive to the Ocean’s Trilogy gift set, the films include a star-studded cast featuring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta- Jones, Al Pacino, Bernie Mac, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Elliott Gould and more. The HD DVD and Blu-ray™ Hi-Def include all new, exclusive special features such as never-before-seen footage and deleted scenes.

The Blu-ray™ Hi-Def will be available for $28.99 SRP. Orders are due for Blu-ray on March 25 and for HD DVD on April 15.

The Films

Ocean’s 11 (2001)
Danny Ocean (George Clooney) likes taking chances. All he asks is that his handpicked squad of ten grifters and cons play the game like they have nothing to lose. If all goes right, the payoff will be a fat $150 million.

Ocean’s 12 (2004)
They’re back. And then some. Twelve is the new eleven when Danny Ocean and pals return in a sequel to the cool caper that saw them pull off a $150 million heist. But $150 million doesn’t go as far as it used to. It’s time to pull off another stunner of a plan. Exciting locations include Amsterdam, Paris and Rome, the direction of Steven Soderbergh again and the original cast plus Catherine Zeta Jones and others.

Ah well. I went ahead and bought the trilogy on HD DVD for 36.45$. But this does give consumers more choice--never a bad thing.

You know, considering that it was Warner's going Blu-ray-exclusive that started the past month's dominos falling, it's a bit ironic that it looks like they'll actually be the last studio supporting HD DVD.

Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.
