PoTC, AWE Second disk issues

Player is new Sony BDP-S500
I put the second disk in to look at the special features and after the skull talks to me, the disk jumps to a menu with the skull in a PiP window in the upper right hand corner of the screen and I get all the extras as a scrollable menu in a "main window"
I select an option to view and the video only plays in the tiny PiP window and I can't get the video window to resize to take the bulk of the screen space. I also can't get back to the menu but have to wait until the feature plays out.
Firmware issue? bad programming on the disk??
