Amazon BOGO sale on HD DVDs 12/11/07 (now DEAD)
Amazon returns with a BOGO sale on HD DVD. Don't dawdle, you never know when Amazon will pull this sale off their website.

Re: Amazon BOGO sale on HD DVDs 12/12/07
Is this a BOGO format battle?
I wish they had a bigger selection on these things, the most I can ever find is 1 title I'd want that I don't already have.
The Collection (Blu-Ray High Definition/DVD)
Pre-orders - BLU-RAY: Akira, The Dark Knight, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Death Proof, King Kong, La Femme Nikita, Planet Terror, Raging Bull, Ronin, The Third Man DVD: .................

I know what you mean, but keep checking back, Amazon has a way of switching out titles, and adding new ones to the mix.

Re: Amazon BOGO sale on HD DVDs 12/12/07
they finally went live.
Sale pages have been up for hours but the discounts weren't working.
They are now though.
There isn't anything I really wanted either, but that didn't stop me from finally upgrading The Jerk and blind buying Casino. $8 for an HDM is even more impressive to me than the $5.50 bin at wal-mart.
Should they add Sneakers at some point, I'll likely get off yet another order.

Aughhh!!! First I get tempted by their Blu-Ray BOGO sale (4 different times!) and now this???? My wife's gonna smack me!
I guess it was inevitable. Getting both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD players sealed my fate.

I too am disappointed in the selection of titles available. Maybe I'll check back later in the week or over the weekend to see if they've updated to anything I want.

They've updated. Only slightly though.

I keep checking back to see if they've included Billy Madison. A guilty pleasure if there ever was one.

Re: Amazon BOGO sale on HD DVDs 12/11/07
I was not blown away by the selection either. But did not feel bad about picking up 2 Steve McQueen classics. I refreshed the page several times while shopping and did see some new titles pop up.
After buying the A3 last week, a box of cigars, and 4 HD DVDs in one week, I'm gonna have to tell the wife to not get me anything for Christmas. Or we can pretend that all my purchases were really gifts.

Oh man....for me this means buying some movies that I love, but didn't necessarily care about getting in high def, like Blazing Saddles and Enter The Dragon. Or just some stuff I wanted to try like Reds and Lake House.
Plus I have that early adopter discount still, so in the last few days I've bought ten discs in both formats for about 10-11 bucks apiece. Awesome.

Re: Amazon BOGO sale on HD DVDs 12/11/07
quite nice. I picked up Casino, Goodfellas, Polar Express, and The Game. Not the greatest titles on their availability list, but for under 40 bux, how can you go wrong?
