Had problems as well with several discs so far. Not got any further now as it spoils the viewing experience, waiting for Microsoft to fix it if they can. Already on my second disc1 replacement as the first was badly scratched. This 2nd copy has a duplication error around the spindle, it is partially melted!
Post on Andy Pennells blog the issues your having as he works for MS as a developer on HDi and can flag these problems so it can either get the drive firmware updated or if its a mastering problem you can then get a refund on them and wait until Paramount remaster. It sounds as though some of the UK discs are potentially faulty.
