"Into The Wild" on HD DVD February 12th....

Happy Birthday to me - possibly the best movie of the year is hitting HD. Only downside is there is no lossless, and pretty skimpy features. This is a movie that visually is MADE for high def, not to mention it was one of the most emotionally moving films I have seen all year. Penn's pretentiousness outside of his work tends to make me roll my eyes so far back in my head I can see my brain, but don't let it keep you from seeing this film!

Blu is getting all the good popcorn flicks these days (I really wish I could spare the cash for the first three Die Hards today), but HD is definitely getting the top notch movies to themselves - first Zodiac, then Eastern Promises, and now this. Ah, it's good to be neutral.

This is super-good news! I love Penn and his "Indian Runner" is my all-time favourite films.

This looks good.
Sounds good.

Good movie as well!
Has HD trailer as extra bonus over DVD version FYI.

Just watched this one last night! I'm real surprised at the lack of discussion of this great movie. Perfect for high-def viewing, wonderfully clear nature cinematography, just like watching the discovery channel, with a gripping story to go along. I thought for sure that special effects were used to make the star look emaciated at the end, but in the documentary, he said he lost over 40 pounds (from 156 to 115, or something close to that) for this movie.

"This is a movie that visually is MADE for high def"

I haven't seen the film in the Theatre,or the HD Version. But the transfer
for the standard Def dvd is pretty so so,Parts look great, many scenes don't
Don't know if its the Orig Neg,Lab Work,Budget,DP or what. The movie is
still worth getting, and there are plenty of worst films that have better
transfers

I have the HD DVD, and think the transfer is beautiful. Considering the subject matter, retaining the beauty of the locations really enhances the viewing experience.
