This week Ken McAlinden reviews Albert Lewin's MGM adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, a highly awaited release that gets notable recommendation. The Office Season Three - Not on HD DVD?

I was looking forward to buying The Office in HD. Since it's Universal I was expecting it in HD DVD but when I went to the store they only had the DVD version. Even 30 Rock was only in DVD. Anyone know when The Office Season Three box set will be available in HD DVD? Or when the first two seasons will be available in HD as well? Thanks.

I've never seen any speculation for The Office to be on HD DVD. I own the first 2 seasons (3rd on its way from Amazon) and for a SD version, the PQ is very good.
I personally don't see a need for HD and this is coming from a guy who loves HD and loves the show.
One day maybe?

The reason HD is necessary is because the show was broadcast in HD. That is the main problem I have with buying TV on DVD right now - if it looks worse on DVD than when I saw it the first time, why should I buy it?

Yes, but I'm not watching a show like 'The Office' for its amazing visuals. It doesn't personally matter to me whether or not it is on a high definition medium. I'm purchasing it regardless.
Your argument can be used for 98% of the TV shows released on DVD.

Yes. That is, as long as the show was produced and broadcast in HD.

I have to go with Marc on this one. I watch the show every week in HD. It looks great. I'm not buying it until it's out in HD as well.
