You are all making a huge deal out of this. Let me pose this question to all of you Does it really matter? The picture is shifted slightly down. Is it still a good movie? How many of you were happy with the movie until this surfaced?

I'm still happy with the movie. However, the presentation is incorrect, and it should be fixed. I don't see how these are conflicted feelings.

I'm sorry but I can't believe you are saying this. Of course that it's a huge deal! People's head are cut off for 9 minutes. If this is not a huge deal on an expensive HD medium which is supposed to present the best, what else is?

I'm not happy with a movie that is obviously framed wrong. I'm sorry but when the guy is talking and his head is completely cut off, thats bad!

So you wouldn't be bothered by whatever your favorite movie is being incorrectly formatted and the main characters having their heads cut off for a few scenes then? Why don't we just watch in Pan & Scan then? This movie isn't a top 10 for me, but it is a decent flick and I did notice there was something wrong. Sorry, but it most certainly DOES matter.

The framing is a "big deal". Now that it is have been discovered, Disney needs to rectify the situation via a replacement program as other studios have done in the past.

That being said, if it doesn't bother you, more power to you; but I never understood the need for people who aren't bothered by something to dimiss the concerns of others. Afterall, we're here for movies first and foremost. Personally, I'd rather have a movie presented properly on VHS then incorrectly on Blu-ray Disc.

It matters now because those of us in the know will forever look for this framing issue and it will bother many of us everytime we view this segment of the BRD. Disney needs to correct the problem as other studios have done beforehand.

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean Blu-ray has wrong framing!!!

I've only seen the film twice. Once on DVD back when it first came out, and again about a month ago on Bd. I had a blast watching it on Bd and never once thought or felt or noticed if there was a framing issue. I was caught up in the whole thing and enjoyed the hell out of the ride (even more than the first time I saw it).

I guess ignorance is bliss.

Apparently in one reel. And cutting heads off and showing that people who are supposed to be up high are actually close to the floor is a big deal. This has nothing to do with liking the movie, per se.

About 9 minutes of the film are mis-framed according to the thread over at AVS.
