Michael Bay: No Blu-Ray, no Transformers 2

http://www.betanews.com/article/Mich...s_2/1187708105

Michael Bay announced that if Paramount will not support Blu-Ray he will not helm Transformers 2.

Does he have that kind of clout? Who knows.

I am fine with him directing the sequel, but I truly doubt that its bo would be hurt by his passing on it. The number of people who go to see a film because he is the director has to be small and it is probably offset by the ones who avoid Bay films .

He's already posted a retort saying he has calmed down but hopes that Paramount will support both.

Exactly. Michael Bay is out of his mind if he thinks his lack of involvement would make a difference. People aren't going to see Transformers 2 because it says "A Michael Bay Film"- they'll go because there's giant robots smashing things and fighting.

lol In fact, now that I think about it. I might actually be able to see the robots smashing things and fighting better if Michael Bay didn't direct it.

Well at least some good came out of the Paramount-HD-DVD debacle, lol.

Maybe they can get a director on board who actually gives a crap about the franchise.

Guys, you know the new rules, if you want to discuss whether this director or any director has any clout to do this based on his HDM preference then please discuss it in the appropriate thread(s). Thank you.
