Babylon 5: The Lost Tales

I saw that there's a new Babylon 5 movie coming out and i haven't seen if there's a Blu-ray or HD DVD version. I mean i can easily get the DVD but seeing some new Babylon 5 action in HD would be awesome There's a trailer up on the babylon5.com site but no word of an HD version of the movie, but oh does it look good!

HD version on XBOX Live network only. For everyone else, it's SD-DVD only.

Hopefully that exclusive will expire and we'll see an HD DVD and/or Blu Ray release eventually.

Re: Babylon 5: The Lost Tales

I really wish I could buy this in High Definition, but I suppose I'll get the DVD and support more potential B5 releases.

I had not realized it was going to be available in High Def on the Xbox Live.

Re: Babylon 5: The Lost Tales

Studios are dragging their feet with catalog titles as is, so I think it will be a good long time before we get things released as timely as SD DVDs.

And you believe, at heart, everyone's a killer...

Not soon considering MS wants to kill off both HD formats.

Maybe they'll release a box set of these in one of the HD formats after they produce more.

  1. The "MS wants to kill HD formats" thing is way overblown.
  2. Warners would have be idiots to give MS more than a few weeks exclusive.

Pretty damning, and a sign of Microsoft's preference to come.

AFAIK MS has the only exclusive for all the forthcoming B5 movies in HD right now. Time contraints have not been discussed.

I think this is a big mistake on their part. Considering Warner Home Entertainment HD format sales consists of 70% BD/30% HD-DVD, you would think they would make an effort to put out something. What percentage of people own a 360, then subscribe to LIVE, then are willing to pay to d/l the movie on top of that (which they'll have to delete in a matter of time anyways)?
