HDi and HD-DVD Live demonstration for Bill Hunt
Per Bill Hunt @ the Digital Bits:

I've been invited by Microsoft's Kevin Collins and others up to the Universal lot this morning for a demonstration of all the latest bells and whistles the HD-DVD camp is creating for upcoming titles on the format via HDi and HD-DVD Live. I'm an open-minded sort, and I've been known to enjoy an HD-DVD disc or two myself, so I'm happy to take a look at what they've got to show me. You can be sure I'll report back to you all about the experience here in the next day or two.

So much for the "Bill the Blu-Ray shill" comments. While he may be infavour of BD winning the format war, at least he's keeping up to speed on developments in both camps.
\"My opinion is that (a) anyone who actually works in a video store and does not understand letterboxing has given up on life, and (b) any customer who prefers to have the sides of a movie hacked off should not be licensed to operate a video player.\"-- Roger Ebert

Hey, if he feels the need to say he's an open-minded sort... Besides, anything that isn't perfect gives him a reason to say Blu-ray's vaporware is better!
Jay's Movie Blog - A movie-viewing diary.
Transplanted Life: Sci-fi soap opera about a man placed in a new body, updated two or three times a week.
Trading Post Inn - Another gender-bending soap, with different collaborators writing different points of view.
"What? Since when was this an energy ball movie?" - Overheard during a screening of Takashi Miike's Dead Or Alive
"What the hell religion are you people?" - Overheard during the Captain Marvel serial at SF/29
"If I feel even one bullet hit me, I will rip your lungs out through your nostrils!" - Ron Silver as himself, "Heat Vision And Jack"

Re: HDi and HD-DVD Live demonstration for Bill Hunt
I bet he comes away liking what he saw but that wasn't the bulk of why he believes that Blu-ray will win the "war". Most of his problems were related to studio, manufacturer, and computer industry support. I highly doubt they are going to change his mind on those topics but I'm glad to see he isn't writing them off and is willing to listen to what they have to say.

Bill's become an unabashed pro BD master spin-meister, probably already has his bust in a niche at the Project Hydra Hall of Fame. Expecting him to come away from this with an unbiased report is like expecting pigs to fly.

Please stop dancing around the issue and finally come out to tell us how you truly feel. I'm so tired of these veiled view points.

Wasn't this invitation at least suggested by Richard Doherty in his first response to Bill on the AVS forum?

Re: HDi and HD-DVD Live demonstration for Bill Hunt
Does any one think Bill is going to survive his trip to the deep dungeuns of the HD plant unscathed? Toshiba and MS are planning on install HDi chips in Bill's brain and will be sending physic commands to him through those chips as he writes his next commentary for The Digital Bits.
