A few words about...™ Lucky # Slevin... -- in HD

Although it seems to have a few fits and starts within it's story line, Lucky # Slevin ends up as a devilishly stylish piece of cinema.

Brought to HD by Weinstein / Genius, this is a quality HD DVD that will apparently not be available at one's local Blu-Buster, which is a pity, as this is a quality product.

Thoroughly enjoyable from all standpoints, this HD disc is a wonderful way to spend 109 minutes in the realm of modern noir.

Recommended.

Very nice. I have been on the fence about this one because I hadn't heard much about it. I guess I'll have to pick it up.

I've had this one for awhile and I agree it's a really solid film. Great HD DVD as well.

Actually, this was one of my favorite films over the last couple of years and the HD DVD presentation was spot on to how I remembered my theatrical viewings of it.

Sweet. I'm a big fan of noir, both classic and neo-noir. I guess I'm going to have to dig into my pocket twice this week Got to get season 2 of Perry Mason also.

I could not agree more. This is an excellent film and a very good transfer. Weinstein is turning out to be one of my favorite studios currently releasing in either HD format (Disney and Warner take a close second) with their consistently great transfers and some great titles.

  • New buying strategy - I will continue to buy Universal and Paramount HD DVD's, but if it available in both formats, Blu-ray now gets my purchase.

Wow. Never heard of it!

Just ordered the HD DVD ($17.99 - 10% on Amazon!). You guys will have to answer for it, if it's a deception. All of you!

Doubt that you'll be disappointed, Cees.

A nice, somewhat quirky film with an interesting sensibility and a solid HD transfer that was very immersive. Not sure I'd call it neo-noir, but it was an involving crime drama with an impressive and very satisfying cast of characters.
