Re: Weekly hi def sales numbers - Nielsen/VideoScan
There's another reason why these numbers cannot meaningfully be analyzed in this thread: no-one seems to know what they stand for precisely.
I've asked it more than once, a few days ago, and except for a few "I think this"s or "I believe that"s, or "Wouldn't it be thus"s, actually no-one seems to really know.
You can discuss numbers like these (in a comparison), but a real analysis would require more info!

I am format neutral - it's many studios, that's who are not.
And a few fanboys and followers.

Only a fool would try to analyse these numbers in isolation. But, fortunately, we have reams of data on performance of individual titles and actual sales volumes going back over the past year.
So they CAN be meaningfully analysed both on this thread and anywhere else. That a person may dislike the outcomes is another matter - generally HD DVD supporters will not be happy (as evidenced by the dismissive tone towards any statistics with the name 'Nielsen' attached)!

Re: Weekly hi def sales numbers - Nielsen/VideoScan
Actually, Universal does have some more good titles being released this summer and the early Fall. The hit Hot Fuzz will be released the same day as 300 and later this fall, the big hit Knocked Up will be a Universal HD DVD exclusive. Not to mention the first Bourne Identity flick coming out in HD DVD b4 the series finale hits theaters. So there are some great ones approaching other than Speilberg for Universal.
