When will we see the first music titles?

When should we see the first music titles in loss less for HD DVD?

I have a decent SACD/DVD-A collection and can hear a great improvement in HD-DVD titles, love to see some music released on this format.

Anyone know?

I mean studio recordings, not live stuff.

No sooner than you ask, here it is:

In what is being billed as the world's first "3-Dimensional Sound Reality" high-def music experience, Surround Records will debut the audio-only HD DVD release 'Uncommon Bach' on June 15.

  • New buying strategy - I will continue to buy Universal and Paramount HD DVD's, but if it available in both formats, Blu-ray now gets my purchase.

Cool....but....with it being DTS MA I'm out of luck, right?

What am I going to hear? Is it better than standard DTS?

I much prefer something lossless but without something to decode the MA I won't get that will I?

That's hilarious. An audio only disc where nobody can actually listen to the lossless track. I wonder why they went with DTS HD MA only? An audio only HD DVD would have plenty of room for more than one lossless track. The decision making in regards to these HD formats really is screwy.

Wouldn't this be the first example of DTS HD MA being used on HD DVD?

All the Studio Canal titles are DTS-MA. I believe some of the early Weinstein titles are as well.

Even on a 15gb disc, you'd thnk they'd have room for TrueHD, PCM and DTS-MA.

DTS-HD MA has a lossy DTS track added. You may listen to that.

How will the DTS lossy track compare to DVD-A?

Isn't TrueHD basically the MLP lossless used in DVD-A?
