USED HD/Blu-Ray OK?

I was in a store this past weekend where they actually already had a few used HD/BR discs for sale.

I'm an HD virgin, so I don't know much about the discs themselves, but is there anything about them that would make them any more fragile/unplayable than normal SD-DVD?

I buy a lot of my SD discs used, so I thought I might consider buying a few used HD discs as I see them, if they're probably OK, even though I don't yet have a player.

I've had really good luck buying used BD and HD DVD from sites like this one and the AVS Forum. When you buy from kindred spirits, you tend to get minty fresh discs is the lesson learned I guess. As with any used media, I would make sure you checkout the physical condition of the discs. I don't buy scratched discs myself, and would venture if you don't either, you shouldn't have any issues.

I'd suggest second-hand Blu-ray discs would be a better bet due to their non scratch coating.

A definite bonus in the world of rentals & second hand bargin bins

I second that. I can't speak for used HD-DVD but I can say that I tried, hard to scratch a disk and coat a BR with my fingerprints over the entire disk and it still played flawlessly.
