Universal pushes the release date for 'Dead Silence' - Forward!

Universal has moved the release date for 'Dead Silence' from July 10th to June 26th. Now that is a switch...

Quote:
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced a rare street date advancement for the upcoming HD DVD combo release of 'Dead Silence' which will now street two weeks ahead of schedule.
Report

It is a Combo so we know there will be those that don't want it.

  • Pioneer VSX-94TXH, Panasonic PT-AE 2000U 1080p (delivered but not mounted yet)
  • 252 HD DVDs, 65 BD DVDs, and over 1560 - SD DVDs and going down
  • New buying strategy - I will continue to buy Universal and Paramount HD DVD's, but if it available in both formats, Blu-ray now gets my purchase.

However, most of the people who won't want to own this movie are the ones who have seen it. It's pretty awful.

That I know. I put the quality of this film at the same level of the totally unwatchable Saw 2 and Saw 3 sequels (I left out the original Saw only because it had some originality).

I think the only reason I posted it was because it is bucking the trend of postponments, and is actually being released ahead of schedule.

Which puts it firmly in the "From Justin to Kelly" camp i.e. movies so bad they release them early on DVD to cash in on residual hype.

\"My opinion is that (a) anyone who actually works in a video store and does not understand letterboxing has given up on life, and (b) any customer who prefers to have the sides of a movie hacked off should not be licensed to operate a video player.\"-- Roger Ebert

I'm not a math genius, but July 24 to June 24 is MORE than 2 weeks. Also June 24 is not even a tuesday. I think it should read July 10 as the new release date.

Your right. It was a typo on my part. Should by July 10th to June 26th.
