Re: Star Trek TOS in HD.

It makes me laugh that this will be the third time that I have
purchased these original episodes.

So sad how we spend our money buying the same titles over
and over again.

....but I am very excited about what is being done with Trek.

Re: Star Trek TOS in HD.

so you bought the 2 episode /volume editions, i think there were 40 volumes.

then you bought the 3 colored, 3 season box set...

and now... this is coming out =).

well, on the bright side, it'll be HD =). i liked what they did with the soundtrack on the initial DVD releases (5.1 remix). i'm sure they'll spice things up even further this time.

Re: Star Trek TOS in HD.

I guess the big question right now is the framing: Will they be utilizing some form of "tilt and scan" to "re-compose" the aspect ratio from 1.33:1 to the more "HD-friendly" 1.78:1 ?

Does anybody know?

(In any event, I suppose we'll find out on September 16th!!)

Re: Star Trek TOS in HD.

They should leave well enough alone. Stop vandalizing this old TV show and start spending the money on new creative endeavors involving the STAR TREK universe.

One can only hope that they will not alter the composition.

it'll most likely be black bars left and right of a 4:3 image.
