Should be interesting!
Price, PQ/AQ, & maybe even features.

Movies are: "The Greatest Artform".
HD should be for EVERYONE!

Will FMJ and Lethal Weapon have new 1080p transfers or the same crappy, soft 1080i transfers as on HD-DVD?

Thats interesting I was just going through my HD-DVD's and FMJ says 1080p. Is this a 1080i master encoded to a 1080p disc? I stayed away from buying FMJ on DVD all these years because it was Full Sceen. And I actually own it on HD-DVD because it was a widescreen transfer. I am hoping to have my HD-A1 next friday, (Sept. 1st). Another thing I am wondering about is will it be MPEG2 or VC1? When VC-1 Blu-ray discs are available I will start buying titles in that format. But until then I will not buy Blu-ray titles and will stick with HD-DVD.

Re: 09-05-06 Warner Blu-ray Releases

supposedly from this second wave on out, all the Warner titles will be VC1.
I don't expect there to be a noticeable difference between the HD DVDs and Bds at this point. I've also heard that if the content exceeds 25 gb, and the dual layers aren't ready, they just won't release a given title on bd- so thats good news as well (that they won't be dumbing down the HD DVDs a bit to try to fit in the eventual bd 25gb sandbox).

so great news that the $1K and up player format should finally see some consistently good quality releases from now on.
shame the same thing can't be said for most of the formats actual exclusive titles and studio releases so far.
