Sony is pulling the BD of Robocop - It goes to FOX for later release

From The digital bits:

Quote:
Also today, just a little Blu-ray-related FYI: Sony has informed us that because the distribution of MGM titles has moved to 20th Century Fox, they'll no longer be releasing the Blu-ray Disc version of RoboCop. It's been pulled from their schedule. Look for it to be rescheduled for release by Fox later this year, once Fox officially announces their first Blu-ray Disc releases.

Weird.

I wonder if this will get a new transfer? One would hope so.

Home is behind, the world ahead
and there are many paths to tread
Through shadow, to the edge of night
until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadow, cloud and shade
all shall fade, all shall fade

I highly doubt a different transfer will be used so those that have the released BRD now can probably sell it for a significant profit.

Does 20th Century Fox have access to the transfer used by Sony? Also given Fox's reputation on SD DVD I would hope they would see the backlash these lackluster releases have been getting and would want to put together a better version.

Blu-ray & HD DVD - It's all about the movies!
