Constantine- night scenes

I just recieved my new HD DVD player, and I've been making sure I have my TV fined tuned just right.

So I was testing Constantine with it.

Everything looks fantastic, except, these two night scenes.

1. Isabelle runs on the rooftop and jumps

2. The end where Reeves/Weisz are on the rooftop talking

On these night scenes, is the night sky suppose to be clear and somoth
or is the sky suppose to be unsmooth, really dark(picture doesn't look that great)

I have everything set up just about right, since every other scene is fantastic.
These two night scenes are making me cringe

Re: Constantine- night scenes

If someone told me a movie was purr-fect, I'd reply that they'd obviously overlooked something. I hated this movie but it's one of the best looking HD-DVD's out. I traded my copy away....

Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

Re: Constantine- night scenes

try another SD-DVD movie that you have that is really dark. i think it's just the movie itself. saw it in the cinemas, the night scenes aren't supposed to be realistic, just metaphoric.

Okay, I popped in my Lost: Season 1 DVD, and it looks GREAT upconveted, and the night scenes there are fine.

So I guess it's just unrealistic/weirdly darkened skyline in Constantine.

Re: Constantine- night scenes

yup =). even in the cinema, i remembered it felt like a fake backdrop... but constantine is based on comic books =).
