Has anyone been able to purchase the June 6, HD DVD Releases?

June 6 Releases: Constantine (Warner), Firewall (Warner), The Perfect Storm (Warner).

Non of the Best Buy's (B&M or online), Walmart's or Tower Video's in my area got them in today. (Tuesday, June 6). Last week, Paramount postponed their 5/30/06 discs with no new release date.

Just a fluke?

Only "The Perfect Storm" looked like it might be available from Amazon in a couple of days.

Paul

I'm about to head out and look for Constantine and I hope I don't have the problems finding it as others have...

Re: Has anyone been able to purchase the June 6, HD DVD Releases?

It stinks that Warner Brothers has been doing such a lousy job with the launch of this format. I'm referring to the lack of info about what titles are coming and when, and the fact that these are often getting to Best Buy on the same day they are supposed to be on the shelves.

Most of the titles they have actually managed to get out look really, really great, so that buys them some slack. But they need to get their ducks in a row as soon as possible.

In fairness, the format has only been out for about 6 weeks. But still, "soft launch" or not, they need to step it up.

I'm curious to see if they are better with BD.

Home is behind, the world ahead
and there are many paths to tread
Through shadow, to the edge of night
until the stars are all alight
Mist and shadow, cloud and shade
all shall fade, all shall fade

Circuit City is selling HD DVD's?

Edit: DVD Empire is showing a 6/13/06 release date now!

I got all 3 titles at the Best Buy in Salem, New Hampshire this afternoon. They had multiple copies, and they even price-matched with Target.com ($27.99 for Firewall / $19.99 for Constantine & Perfect Storm).

Yep CC sells HDDVD's.

As for Dvd Empire. They seem to be getting shipments of new titles after everyone else.

Looking at my order today, Amazon's date for Firewall and Perfect storm were screwed up this afternoon and said 4-6 weeks. Now they say 24 hours, and being prepared to ship is Constantine

The Circuit city here in Vegas sells HD DVD's but puts them in within the Regular DVD's, no actual display, so you have to hunt & peck

Re: Has anyone been able to purchase the June 6, HD DVD Releases?

Sean,

I don't know about those three titles (they seem absent), but DVDPlanet (former Digital Eyes) just published their HD titles (between the SD announcements). Most of the titles I've seen announced before seem to be there:

HD DVD

04/25/2006 Apollo 13 $26.95
05/23/2006 Blazing Saddles $20.95
08/22/2006 Bone Collector $26.95
05/23/2006 Bourne Supremacy $26.95
05/23/2006 Chronicles of Riddick $26.95
04/25/2006 Doom $26.95
07/11/2006 Friday Night Lights $26.95
05/23/2006 Fugitive $20.95
05/16/2006 Full Metal Jacket $20.95
05/02/2006 Goodfellas $20.95
06/13/2006 Happy Gilmore $26.95
08/22/2006 Interpreter $26.95
06/06/2006 Muriel Anderson - A Guitar Scape Planet $18.95
07/11/2006 Pitch Black $26.95
08/08/2006 Ray $26.95
05/09/2006 Rumor Has It $29.95
06/13/2006 Rundown $26.95
04/18/2006 Serenity $26.95
08/22/2006 Spy Game $26.95
05/02/2006 Swordfish $20.95
05/09/2006 Training Day $20.95
05/23/2006 U-571 $26.95
05/16/2006 Unforgiven $20.95
05/23/2006 Van Helsing $26.95
06/06/2006 View From Space With Heavenly Music $18.95

Many seem to be shipping already (there are even more titles there!) and some are "temporarily sold out" on their HD DVD page.

Blu Ray

07/11/2006 Basic Instinct 2 $27.95
06/13/2006 Kung Fu Hustle $20.95
06/13/2006 Legends of the Fall $20.95
06/13/2006 Robocop $20.95
06/13/2006 S.W.A.T. $20.95
06/13/2006 Species $20.95
06/13/2006 Stealth $20.95
06/13/2006 Terminator $20.95
06/27/2006 Ultraviolet $27.95

And on their BD page there are more titles too.

Some of these apparently aren't movies. But there are also some very interesting titles and for what seems to be very reasonable prices.
