A few word about... Blazing Saddles -- in High Definition

Blazing Saddles was produced during an era in which main titles sequences, combined with high contrast, painted or color titles were created from dupes which looked like, well...

dupes.

Blazing Saddles is no different. With freeze frames as backgrounds and an occasional scratch appearing within the dupes, it looks precisely as it should and always has -- only now sharper, with crisper color which have superior densities.

Production footage shines.

Blazing Saddles takes it place alongside the earlier handful of Warner Home Video High Definition titles, and has been accorded the same high quality treatment.

What a treat.

Mel Brooks... in High Definition!

Highly Recommended.

This one will be an absolute must buy!

Can't wait till Tuesday. Hope they have it in-stock at Best Buy, given the short release announcement date.

Paul

Candygram!

"Did you know that more people are murdered at 92 degrees Fahrenheit than any other temperature? I read an article once. Lower temperatures, people are easy-going, over 92 and it's too hot to move, but just 92, people get irritable."

It's some louder than the lowest of the low volume titles.

I enjoyed this disc more than any of the others so far. Besides the stock footage of the indian attack, good golly miss molly, this one looked great!

Rachael, the big disc cat! I used to be looking for Hi-Vision Laserdiscs & D-Theater tapes, now I'm looking for HD-DVD's and Blu-rays.

I survived the AFI top 100 Film Challenge! I've seen them all.

One of the few things left in the TV cut. I can't believe they even bothered to show this on network television back in the day.

Must...resist...purchasing...HD-DVD player...have twin boys who are going...to...college...in...three...months.

Ugh. Resistance is futile. I have a copy of the standard Blazing Saddles DVD that was autographed by Mel Brooks on the outside of the shrink wrap, which means I've never been able to watch it, of course. If ever there was a way to rationalize upgrading to HD-DVD, this would be it for me.
