Blu-ray question - component video hookup

Hi there: This may be a silly question, but I'm thinking of getting a Blu-ray player, but I have an older widescreen TV with component video inputs (no HDMI or DVI inputs). What could I expect in terns of picture and sound quality? Would it be the same as SD, or would I expect to see any improved picture or sound quality? Any input would be very greatly appreciated.

What model is your TV, and what is its maximum resolution?

More than likely you are looking at getting a very clear 720p image with basically the same 2.0 stereo sound (assuming you don't have a receiver) you enjoy today. Are you using an upconverting DVD player today and if so which one?

With models continuing to come down in price (saw one at Costco today for $249) you may be able to get a really good deal on a unit right after Thanksgiving.

DVD & Blu-ray - It's all about the movies!
