Amazon now providing $50 credit for HD DVD player purchases
Just received an email from Amazon:
Quote:
As someone who purchased an HD DVD player from us before February 23, 2008,* you might like to hear about a special offer available from Amazon.com.
New technologies don't always work out as planned. We at Amazon.com value our customer relationships more than anything and would like to support customers who purchased these players by offering a credit good for $50 off any products sold by Amazon.com.** Just use promotional code [redacted] when checking out. The code is valid through April 9, 2009, so you have plenty of time to use your credit. Purchases from third-party merchants on our site are not eligible.

Re: Amazon now providing $50 credit for HD DVD player purchases
I wonder what the stiplulations are? I have bought two HD DVD players from Amazon, the most recent being back in Aug. 2007. I wonder if they both qualify?
Edited to add:
If you're the impatient sort, like I am, I'd recommend calling Amazon's Customer Service if you have not received the above e-mail yet. I had a $100.00 promotional code within about 15 minutes of e-mailing them, which I promptly turned into four Blu-ray Discs.

WOW! Thanks Mike for the heads-up.
Don't know why I didn't get an e-mail from Amazon. Bought two X-box 360 add-ons in November 2006.

Re: Amazon now providing $50 credit for HD DVD player purchases
I completely forgot I purchased an HD-A1 through Amazon way back in the [HD DVD] day. When I went to pull the trigger on the Twin Peaks: Definitive Gold Box Edition that was sitting in my Amazon Gold Box (ironic) I had an unexpected $54.20 credit. Amazon rocks!

Re: Amazon now providing $50 credit for HD DVD player purchases
Got mine, but had to contact customer service first. I suspect this was due to a screwup in my order (got shipped an A30 instead of an A35) which had me doing a return.

Jiminy! I'm purple so figured I was all done with this section of the forum. Good thing I checked in! I found the previously ignored email! Thanks Amazon (and HTF!).
