Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
I see Panasonic has just announced a firmware upgrade for the DMP-BD30.
Should I expect (m)any further firmware upgrades for the DMP-BD10? Or, because of it's 1.0 profile, do you suspect it's pretty much done? Or, maybe, because of its 1.0 profile should I expect several more?

Re: Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
Mike,
Word from people who have talked to the panny engineers indicates that an update for the BD-10 would be different than for the 30 due to design differences. I don't know if they have committed to developing a fix for the BD10. Sorry. Wish I had better news.

Re: Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
Reagan: Thanks for responding.
I'm not having any real issues with the BD-10.
I'm just asking, conceptually, if I should expect more firmware upgrades coming down the pike (since the BD-30 continues to move "forward")...or is the BD-10 pretty much pushed as far as it can go?

Re: Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
I don't know. Maybe it will depend on how many BD-10 owners complain about the problems with the player.

Re: Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
Here are a few questions I don't think have been asked before. I noticed that there was a previous update from late Jan/early Feb for the BD50 that I missed. Are firmware updates inclusive of previous updates or do I need to install each one if I want the enhancements, fixes, etc. for all? Also, if each one has to be downloaded and installed, can more than one be burned as an ISO to a single disc and installed or do I have to do one update per disc. Lord, what a waste in blank discs over time!

Re: Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
Charles,
Each firmware update is cumulative. All the fixes from the previous ones are included in the latest (1.6).

Re: Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
Actually, while I think about it there is something else I'm curious about. I know this concerns a different manufacturer but I own Oppo's HD981 DVD player and installed a "beta version" firmware update early last fall shortly after purchase as I was experiencing a "green push" issue apparently attributable to "HDMI color space" issues, etc. This was the advice after speaking with a very nice support person over there.
I now notice that there is a live "production" version of that update available. My new question, are such production or approved versions the same as the betaware versions and hence no download/install is necessary or should I consider getting it?
The beta version seems to have worked out fine for my situation.

Re: Question about Panasonic Firmware upgrades...
Excuse, could someone help me on this one regarding beta version updates? I'm wondering whether I'm missing anything with the live prod. version out there now.
