I just received my HD-A2 From VE. It's connected through HDMI and I have the output resolution set at up to 720p. All my Standard DVDs when read by the player say Cannot play disc, check the disc. Parental locks are off as well. What can this issue be? I have no HD DVD discs yet to check the compatibility of those.

If those SDVDs are of the proper region (R1), the HD-A2 should be able to play them without any problem.

So, either you happen have a lot of problems discs ( ), or there's something wrong with the player. Could you borrow an HD DVD somehow, just to check that functionality as well?

Thanks for the response. I just upgraded to firmware 1.2 and the discs work now!
